Camp Emergency Preparation
We prioritize the safety of every child in our youth programs
The program is directed by Rachel Lovelace, Visual Arts Director
Rachel has a background in childcare and school-age administration
She is certified by the State of Texas as a childcare director
Her training includes emergency preparedness from infancy through adulthood
Certifications include:
CPR
First Aid
Infant and child rescue
Stop the Bleed
Emergency planning (evacuation, severe weather, hold and lockdown procedures)
All teachers and classroom helpers:
Undergo extensive background checks
Receive training in all emergency procedures
Emergency diagrams are:
Posted in every classroom
Provided to parents and guardians
Instructors conduct safety drills:
During the first hour of class each week
To familiarize students with evacuation procedures
Each teacher is equipped with a “go bag” containing:
Student rosters
Emergency contact phone numbers
A telephone
A first aid kit
Any necessary student medications (e.g., EpiPens, rescue inhalers)
