Camp Emergency Preparation

We prioritize the safety of every child in our youth programs

  • The program is directed by Rachel Lovelace, Visual Arts Director

  • Rachel has a background in childcare and school-age administration

  • She is certified by the State of Texas as a childcare director

  • Her training includes emergency preparedness from infancy through adulthood

  • Certifications include:

    • CPR

    • First Aid

    • Infant and child rescue

    • Stop the Bleed

    • Emergency planning (evacuation, severe weather, hold and lockdown procedures)

  • All teachers and classroom helpers:

    • Undergo extensive background checks

    • Receive training in all emergency procedures

  • Emergency diagrams are:

    • Posted in every classroom

    • Provided to parents and guardians

  • Instructors conduct safety drills:

    • During the first hour of class each week

    • To familiarize students with evacuation procedures

  • Each teacher is equipped with a “go bag” containing:

    • Student rosters

    • Emergency contact phone numbers

    • A telephone

    • A first aid kit

    • Any necessary student medications (e.g., EpiPens, rescue inhalers)
