This is a two day/ 9 hour intensive
workshop instruction into the
fabulous art of life casting!
Students will come away from this
event with multiple finished
artworks made through a
comprehensive understanding of the
casting process. Creating
finished works from the "initial"
face and hand castings, students
will gain understanding of how the
mold transfers its impression into a
copy of one's features. From
the confidence obtained by repeated
casting, students can feel secure
enough to go into the world and cast
the likenesses of family and
friends. A specialty air drying
sculpting clay will be used to make
finished works as well as other
media. Come knowing that you
will be on a creative self discovery
adventure!
Supply list for students
I will be supplying the medical
grade plaster gauze bandages,
air-drying sculpting medium, tools,
some decoration items, spray paint
and colorants. Students should
consider bringing these supplies:
paints and decorations (such as
beads, glitter, shells, ribbon,
leaves, feathers, stones, etc.).
You will need to wear 'old' clothes
or aprons and have sleeves that roll
up above the elbow. Short
fingernails are helpful. |
