Accuracy & Depth Perception

D.K. (Debra) Richardson

Feb 16 -18, 2010

HCAF Members $165; Non-members $180

This three day workshop will focus on how to achieve accuracy and the illusion of depth in still life painting. Students should be at an intermediate level with a strong understanding of how to use their medium and may use the medium of their choice. Instruction will be on how to obtain the elements of accuracy and depth to make a more powerful painting, but will not have any focus on how to use a specific medium. Items will be provided for setting up a still life. Students are welcome to bring their own items to use.

D.K. Richardson has been a dedicated artist for over 46 years and although realism has been her focus, the true challenge of her craft is capturing the essence of her subjects whether in still life or portraiture. Richardson studied Fine Art at Abilene Christian University. Influenced by masters of their craft, such as Rembrandt, Da Vinci, Rubens, and Vermeer, Richardson continually strives to obtain a higher level of proficiency in her work. She is a member of the Austin Pastel Society and the Portrait Society of America for which she is currently serving as a Co-Ambassador for the State of Texas.
