The Creation of Figurative Sculpture

EvAngelos Frudakis

May 17—21, 2010

HCAF Members $475; Non-members $525

EvAngelos Frudakis believes that knowledge is the basis of creativity; that one must learn the art of seeing before the art of doing. The class will be taught with the human figure as the subject. Starting with the spirit of the pose and character of the model, the construction of the figure will be taught using anatomical terms and principles of proportion and composition.

EvAngelos Frudakis is one of America’s most significant twentieth-century sculptors. One of his well-known works, “The Signer” monument is located outside Independence Hall in Philadelphia. Frudakis studied art at the American Academy in Rome, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and the Beaux Arts Institute of Design in New York. He has received numerous awards including “Prix de Rome” national competition. He is the founder and president of Frudakis Academy of Fine Arts located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. www.evangeloswfrudakis.com
