Experimental, Watermedia, Collage, Mixed Media

Open Studio Intensive
February 11—13, 2009
Tuition:  HCAF Members $200; Non-members $220

This opportunity is for intermediate to advanced students to push their artwork to the next level. Students may work in the water media of their choice—mixed media, collage and drawing techniques are also encouraged. Students should bring enough supplies and be prepared to produce as much art as time will allow. Discussions will include the value of working in a series and the importance of the artist’s quest for inspiration. The instructor will offer individual critiques with the purpose of guiding the student to discover their own uniqueness and develop their own style.

Jerry V. Seagle graduated with honors from the University of Texas at Austin with a BFA in Painting. He received a graduate fellowship to further his studies at the University of the Americas in Mexico City.

Jerry relies on the strength of design and rich color to create his bold compositions. He works with various media: acrylic on paper, collage and mixed media on paper, acrylic on canvas and Prisma Colors. He combines the freedom and expression of Abstraction to suggest and evoke rather than direct the viewer.

Jerry's one-man shows number more than 200. He has received more than 350 awards in regional and national exhibitions. His paintings have been reproduced in several articles
