Extruder extraordinaire, David Hendley will provide
the opportunity to make dies and experience the
unending possibilities of clay. This workshop
involves die-making for the extruder and shortcuts
and tricks David has learned over the years.
David Hendley earned his master’s degree in ceramics
in 1976, and since 1990 has operated Old Farmhouse
Pottery in Maydelle, Texas. His work is
characterized by colorful glazes and slips
contrasted with ashes and flashing from his
wood-fired kiln. In 2006 he released his video
series, “EXTRUDE IT! Getting the Most From Your Clay
Extruder”. David is a periodic contributor to
Ceramics Monthly magazine and a regular columnist
for Clay Times magazine. For photos of his studio
and finished work see his website
