Printmaking

Instructor:  Marie Leterme
Experiment and have Fun… with Printmaking

May 1 – 4, 2008
9 am – 3 pm

Tuition: HCAF Members $225; Non-members $250

Relax: the press is just another tool to make an image.

This will be a non-traditional approach to printmaking, with and without the press; beginners are welcome.

We will combine techniques: from Monotype and Collograph, to simple Transfer.

Students should bring one or more, simple line drawing sketches and various texture materials.

Artist with previous experience may bring previously made plates to make new images.

Marie Leterme owned Atelier 1513, an etching studio and gallery in Houston from 1981 to 1986. She has printed editions for several artists and conducted numerous workshops in Houston, Galveston and at the Hill Country Arts Foundation.

She has happily departed from the earlier etching discipline and now works mostly in sculpture and mixed media paintings based on monotypes and print fragments.

She has exhibited in Europe and the US and her work is included in numerous collections.
