Green Men and Green Women
Sculpting the Human Face

November 7 - 9, 2008

Tuition: HCAF Members $200; Non-members $225

Green Men and Green Women are symbols of irrepressible life. They are found in the bosses and sculptures of almost every cathedral in Europe. They are one of those pagan symbols assimilated into Christian art. Therefore, these symbols convey good energy to a house. They make wonderful garden pieces. To make a Green Man or Green Woman, students will start with a half-face or bas relief, employing the techniques for sculpting the human face using sacred geometry. Then with real leaves, students will mold leafy hair for the piece. The end result will be a beautiful wall hanging for house or garden.
