This class will be offered in two
sessions:
Mornings 9 am – 12 pm; Afternoons 2 – 5
pm
Tuition: $75 Supply Fee: $10
There is more to two-dimensional art
that painting and drawing. Explore the
2D with exciting methods of printmaking,
collage and mosaics.
Printmaking:
Learn the art of Printmaking, an art
form in which a printing plate is made
and repeated, identical prints are made
of your art. Different forms of
printmaking will be taught and explored
including: pressed object, hammered
wood, soft linoleum block, silk screen,
styrofoam and collograph.
Mixed Media Collage:
Learn to design and create one of a
kind, pieces of art utilizing a variety
of materials, including different kinds
of flat and textured papers, different
colors of paper, pre-printed papers,
fabric, string, twine, etc.
Mosaic:
Create your design, using broken tiles
and dishes then glue and grout with real
concrete. Design, color and technique
will be taught. This is a fun class! |

Mixed Media (found object) Sculpture
Building:
A hands-on course utilizing a
combination of materials to construct a
3D piece of art. The concept of design,
space, dimension, color and construction
will be taught. Materials used will
include wood, nails, hammers, yogurt
containers, bailing wire, paper towel
tubes . . . plus whatever the student
wishes to include. After construction,
the pieces of art will be painted,
working with color and dimension.
Melted Crayon Fabric Art:
Create a design and melt it onto fabric,
using the color of the crayons. Design
and color will be taught. Then enhance
your design and learn the art of
embroidery to decorate and enhance the
design.
Personalized Hiking Sticks:
Strip the bark from long pieces of
cedar, sand and paint or stain your own
hiking stick. Then personalize and/or
embellish your stick with paint, beads,
leather, twine, etc. Always useful in
the Hill Country.
Construction - what every child
loves!:
Learn to construct and build using
corrugated cardboard, tag board, boxes,
tubes, wooden sticks, wire, masking
tape, etc. Each student will design and
construct a sturdy piece of art -
creating a unique, 3 dimensional piece
of art. Children love this course!
Cowboy Brands:
Learn how to read cowboy brands and what
they mean. Then design and construct
your own with wire. Heat and viola . . .
your own brand is "branded" into paper
or wood or leather. |
