Oil Painting

Instructor:  Charlotte Curry
OIL PAINTING

March 27 – 30, 2007
October 2 – 5, 2007

ON THE LIGHTER SIDE
March 27 – 30, 2007

Come explore scenes that lend themselves to being done in very light values. Paintings done this way are both fresh and ethereal. We will talk about and do studies on the difference between light and bright (intense) colors. Students will see how and when to use both for accent. We will also experiment by mixing a whole range of colors in light values. Weather permitting we will go on location to do some studies.

Tuition: HCAF Members $175; Non-members $195

JUST A LITTLE ABSTRACT
October 2 – 5, 2007

Most good realistic landscapes have good abstract bones. The class will begin by doing a number of abstract studies, some on location. Then we will start adding details and talk about how far to take it. Students may want to stop with more abstract form or go on to more realism.

Tuition: HCAF Members $175; Non-members $195
