CLAY SCULPTURE
Four-day workshop
March 1, 2, 8 & 9, 2006
1 - 4 pm

This class will focus on the correct way to build a fired-clay sculpture (using no armature.  There will be demonstrations and short lectures on design, anatomy, visualizing planes, etc. Anatomical references will be provided on human and horse anatomy. Students are encouraged to bring photos for inspiration on their desired sculpture. The class will be working with Red Earth Clay with sand.

Tuition: HCAF members $125; Non-members $135


Karen Mangold began her professional art career as a graphic artist, raised two sons and worked on her painting skills when she could find time. She discovered her interest in sculpture in her mid-twenties. She is mostly self-taught as an artist, but credits workshops for helping her achieve higher levels of technical skill.
