PAINTING ON LOCATION
May 22 - 26, 2006

This class will explore landscape as related to a sense of place. A personal vision begins to emerge as students work on location with various approaches to seeing and simplifying the complexity of information presented to us in the landscape. Preliminary drawings will be used to discover viewpoint and compositional arrangements. Painting with limited color pallets on colored grounds are introduced as a way of understanding color theory as it applies to seeing color relationships in your works. Observing light and its effects on color and space will be our focus to begin experiencing a sense of place.

Tuition: HCAF Members $275; Non-members $295
