DRAWING WITH YOUR BRUSH
March 7 - 10, 2006
Grab your brush and draw! Participants in
this workshop will be shown how to take a little
paint, turpentine and a few brushes and go out
and draw. These will be quick studies on a
sketch pad. The focus will be on shading and
forming brush strokes. These studies and any
outside work will be done the first two days.
Then students will be free to apply what they
have learned in their own paintings. Learning to
form various brush strokes gives students more
creative control of their work. Students may
choose to work with oils or acrylic.
Tuition: HCAF Members $175; Non-members $195 |

PERSPECTIVE AND COMPOSITION
October 17 - 20, 2006
Perspective helps us to understand why things
look the way they do. It achieves distance,
shape and form. In the landscape it defines
where things fit in the sky, on the land and in
all things built. For two days the students will
do studies inside and out relating perspective
to the landscape painting. Also there will be
discussion on composition, or the pleasing
arrangement of objects in your painting. The
last two days, students will compose a painting
from the studies that have been done.
