HANDBUILDING SMALL FIGURES
AND ANIMALS IN CLAY
October 13 - 15, 2006

This is a clay class for beginning to intermediate potters — Hand building and making figures to decorate thrown or hand built pottery. The participants will make from one to three figures: animals, “people” or abstractions and learn to attach them as decorations to a box or vessel.

Tuition: HCAF Members $135; Non-members $150
Lab fee for clay and firing: $35


Betty Shamel’s formal education includes the BFA from the University of Texas at Austin, MFA from the University of Guanajuato at San Miguel de Allende and MA from Texas A&I University, Kingsville. Her pottery was exhibited in the Dishman Gallery Competitive International in 1991, the 1996 Ventana Gallery Angel Show, The Couples’ Show in Rockport 1998, the Art Museum of South Texas 2000 Art Craft Exhibition and the Rockport Center for the Arts 3 Dimensional Show 2000.
