DESTINATIONS: The
purpose of this exhibition is to offer a competition
and exhibition opportunity to young artists. Any
student currently enrolled in art studies at a Texas
College or University is eligible to enter. The
entry fee of $15 will allow students to participate
in the process of a juried competition without high
entry fees or membership requirements. Accepted
entrants to the exhibition will experience their
work hung in a professional manner at the gallery of
the Hill Country Arts Foundation’s Duncan-McAshan
Visual Arts Center. This 1700 square feet exhibit
space provides a unique museum quality atmosphere.
In addition to the educational experience provided,
there will $2500 given in awards.
Ash Almonte will serve a juror for this competition.
Almonte is a successful young artist, educated at
McMurry University in Abilene. Her work has been
exhibited in several one-person and group
exhibitions including those at the Center for
Contemporary Arts in Abilene, TX, the Broadway Mall
Gallery in New York, NY, and Simply Art Gallery in
Galveston, TX, among others. Her passion for
painting has attracted many collectors and numerous
awards including a "Best in Painting" award in the
Manhattan Arts International 24th Anniversary
competition. |
